Nani

Another in a long line of wingers from the world famous Sporting academy, Nani has had the almost impossible task of filling Cristiano Ronaldo's boots not once, but twice. He broke into the Sporting first-team around the same time CR9 departed for Manchester United and quickly earned a host of admirers with his dazzling performances in the famous green and white stripes of the Lisbon based club.
Manchester United eventually won Nani’s signature and he joined The Red Devils for a fee of around £17million and made his debut in the 2007 Community Shield against Chelsea and first showed the United faithful his ability to strike a ball when he grabbed his first league goal with a 25-yard strike versus Tottenham at Old Trafford.
Following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure, United were relying on Nani a lot more this past season and the Cape Verde born winger is enjoying his best form since leaving Portugal, turning in a number of match-winning displays. An on-form Nani will certainly worry even the best of defences at this summer's World Cup.

As a child, Nani used to play street football with fellow Portugal international Manuel Fernandes.
