Miroslav Klose
For Joachim Löw, Miroslav Klose is a very important player, despite his current problems at Bayern Munich, where he has become a substitute for Mario Gomez and Ivica Olic. His 48 goals in 93 caps has earned him special treatment, because he was one of the team’s leaders during the last eight years.
His main strength is his heading ability, an area where he is one of the best in the world. Despite his outstanding goal-scoring record he is not known for being a clinical finisher in front of the goalkeeper - often missing sitters.
However, Klose is a very fair player, having never been sent off during his Bundesliga career. In 227 Games he's only received 20 yellow cards, which means he was booked an average of twice per season.

That Poland’s national team coach Jerzy Engel tried to convince him to play for Poland, but Klose rejected the offer because he was intent on succeeding with Germany.
