William Gallas
Gallas has had an inconsistent year with Arsenal due to several calf injuries. At 32 years of age he has a lot of experience and has played his football at the top level for a number of years now. He is still relatively quick, very good in the air, and possesses physical strength, like many central defenders in England.
He has rarely been poor with les Bleus, so there is no doubt that he will be a necessary player for the team. He recently had some problems with the Gunners, resulting him losing the club captaincy. The main worry remains his fitness and coach Raymond Domenech announced that only fit players can go to the World Cup.
Gallas remains a leader for Les Bleus and plays alongside right-back Sagna at for the Gunners, so the relation on the pitch with him is excellent. He scored the goal for France against Ireland (1-1) that took them through to the finals, but we never hear him speaking about that, because of Henry’s infamous hand ball. There are rumours saying that Gallas could join PSG this summer, but those rumours aren't likely to affect a player of his experience.
