Widely regarded as England's most talented player Joe Cole hasn't quite blossomed into the world beater that everyone expected him to when he burst on the scene as a teenager at West Ham.

His club and country career has been plagued by injury and, like many of his England team-mates, he hasn't racked up many games this season due to a serious knee injury. Just 22 starts in fact. But impressing in Chelsea's Premier League title win run-in, including a cheeky backheel goal at Manchester United, caught Fabio Capello's eye.
