Continually lauded as one of the Premier League's best midfielders and with a goal scoring record most strikers would be jealous of, it's no wonder Frank Lampard is one of Fabio Capello's first-choice midfielders.

But the Chelsea man has struggled to replicate the sort of form that has seen him notch 144 goals in 464 games for the Blues for the national side and his critics claim he can't perform alongside Liverpool's Steven Gerrard in the centre of the park.

But Capello has favoured moving Gerrard onto the left of midfield of late, which frees Lampard up in the middle to make late runs into the box.
