The Buccaneers are currently in the process of bolstering their squad ahead of the new season as they look to avoid a repeat of their dismal 2016/2017 Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaign.
According to reports in The New Age, the future of the 32-year-old remains in the balance with the club reportedly reluctant to sell despite Zwane being on the fringes at Chloorkop and keen on a move away in search of game time.
“At the moment, it is hard to say if it will happen because Sundowns are playing hard ball as they do not have enough players in the (Caf) Champions League, but that is not making a difference because even there, Siya (Zwane) has not played a lot of matches,” a source told The New Age.
“He is really keen on the Pirates move because he is feeling strong and wants to play for one of the big teams on the continent,” said the source.
“They have been struggling at the back and I think with his experience, he can help. But everything is in Sundowns’ hands because he still has a contract there. I think they should let him go since they don’t play him,” the source concluded.
