K’Ogalo outclassed Ingwe in 'Mashemeji' derby played on Sunday

Gor Mahia head coach Ze Maria says his players deserve respect after beating their rivals AFC Leoards in a ‘Mashemeji’ derby played on Sunday at Nyayo Stadium.

Meddie Kagere, George Odhiambo and Timothy Otieno scored one goal apiece to bag the derby’s bragging rights and Ze Maria now says that his side knew the pressure which comes with the fixture and applauds his players for making their fans proud.

"These players deserve a lot of respect. Do you see the fans? They usually want to win every game and so I am happy for them and for my players as well. We work very hard as a team because every club we meet comes with a point to prove. Today all players came with a very clear understanding of what a derby is and they each played very well. Every department was working and the pleasure is not mine, but for the fans," he told kpl.co.ke.

Gor Mahia are playing against Chemelil Sugar in their next match.
