The Sky Blue Stars begin their quest for a stay in the topflight and the player believes a win over the People's Elephants will give them an edge

Ahead of their Nigeria Professional Football League encounter against Enyimba, Victor Chidume believes that a win will boost Remo Stars’ confidence.

Fatai Osho’s men start the second half of the league at the bottom of the log, and they welcome the seven-time domestic champions to the Sagamu Stadium on Sunday.

He is sure that getting a positive result over the Aba side will boost their chances of surviving the drop.

“A win over Enyimba will give us confidence and by starting on that positive note it should help us kickstart our fight against relegation,” Chidume told Goal.

“So we're fully prepared for the game, the only thing we have to do is to respect them. We won't fear them.

“Well, the game won't be an easy game for us but with the work we've put in the team, it will also help us to win because we have been training hard for this match against Enyimba.”

Bright Ejike represents one of the few businesses done by Remo Stars in the mid-season transfer window.

And Chidume hailed the ability of the former Flying Eagles striker, saying: "Bright Ejike will contribute a lot to the team because he's a good player and well experienced in the Nigeria Professional Football League. I had a training with him and saw by myself."
