Wilfried Zaha has been named Crystal Palace player of the month of October.

The Cote d’Ivoire international was sidelined for six weeks with an ankle injury and the Eagles struggled in his absence, losing all seven games without scoring a single goal.

But the former Manchester United man scored on his return to help Roy Hodgson’s side pick up their first win against Chelsea on October 14.

After registering a loss against Newcastle at St. James' Park, Zaha's 97th minute leveller against West Ham United last weekend salvaged a point for the Selhurst Park outfit.

And such displays earned him the monthly gong after he amassed 83% of fans' vote beating out competition from Andros Townsend (7%), Yohan Cabaye (8%) and Scott Dann (2%).
