Liverpool continue their pre-season preparations ahead of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign with a friendly encounter against Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Friday.
Jurgen Klopp's side kicked off their friendly schedule with a comfortable 4-0 win over Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park on Wednesday and the German coach made 10 changes during that game, meaning that his players should be relatively fresh against the Latics.
Star players such as Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Georginio Wijnaldum started for the Reds as goals from James Milner, Marko Grujic, Pedro Chirivella and Ben Woodburn sealed victory with little fuss.
The Merseyside outfit will look to continue that form against Wigan as they gear up for sterner challenges later in July and August.

SQUADS & TEAM NEWS
Jurgen Klopp was careful not to push his players to the limit against Tranmere, opting for a completely different line-up in each half against the National League side. Only goalkeeper Lorius Karius remained on the pitch for longer at Prenton Park, but the German may be replaced by the returning Simon Mignolet on Friday.
New signing from Roma, Mohamed Salah, has been cleared to play against Wigan after having his debut delayed due to work permit issues. The former Roma star was forced to miss the Tranmere match, but he was officially granted a visa on Thursday.
Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana played no part in the friendly against Tranmere, but Klopp suggested that they could have some involvement in the Wigan game ahead of their Asian tour. One player who will certainly not feature against the Latics is Sadio Mane, who has been ruled out as he recovers from injury.
Klopp is likely to adopt the same approach to the game as he did on Wednesday, with the full panel sure to be deployed as players strive to attain match fitness ahead of the new season.
"Everybody enjoyed it and we are looking forward to the next game on Friday," said captain Jordan Henderson, speaking to the club's official website after the Tranmere win. "Pre-season is very important for all the lads coming back in from their holidays. We have started really well in training and in the game. It’s a good start for us."
BETTING & GAME ODDS
Liverpool are 1/6 favourites to triumph, according to dabblebet, with Wigan Athletic priced at 10/1 and the draw available at 5/1.
The Reds put four goals past Tranmere Rovers in their last outing and a price of 17/2 has been placed on them securing the same result against Wigan.
With games against Crystal Palace, Hertha Berlin and Bayern Munich still to come in pre-season, Jurgen Klopp has a variety of opponents to test out his plans for the new campaign.
The Liverpool boss was impressed with the manner of his team's victory over Tranmere, but he is not getting carried away and is aware that there could be a lot of changes further down the line. Nevertheless, the performance of new arrival Dominic Solanke stood out for the German.
"I saw a few wonderful signs [from Solanke]," Klopp told the club's official website. "Everybody in England watched the U20 World Cup – that was fantastic football. He is an offensive player, a really skilled boy. He has to improve, of course, but a lot of things are already really good: first touch, movement, a lot of things."
With more established players returning for the higher profile games in Asia, the Wigan match represents a good opportunity for the younger squad members to further impress, as well as allowing Klopp a chance to experiment more freely.
However, there will be a slight step up in quality against Paul Cook's side, who competed in the Championship last season, despite being relegated.
