Western Stima chairman Laban Jobita says his team is doing everything to retain the current crop of players in order to get back to the top tier.
The power men finished in the 17th position with 38 points, and were relegated alongside Muhoroni Youth. The chairman says the team will be stronger, and that no player has been sold by the team, but left after the expiry of their contracts.
“We have not sold any player, those who have left did so because they were free agents. Otwoma (Ezekiel), and Brian Marita were signed by AFC Leopards because their contracts were set to expire at the end of the year. Maybe they felt they could not play in the National Super League and had to leave.
“It is quite unfortunate that we were relegated, but we are determined to make a comeback next season,” Jobita told Goal.
Vihiga United and Wazito have already been promoted to the Kenyan Premier League after finishing in the first and second positions respectively.
