West Ham replace Payet mural after Marseille move

West Ham may not have wanted to sell Dimitri Payet in January, but they have wasted no time in ensuring he is quickly forgotten by Irons fans.

Payet completed a £25 million move to Marseille after refusing to play for the Hammers, and his exit has led to a mural outside the club's London Stadium being replaced.

Andy Carroll now adorns the wall following his superb volleyed goal against Crystal Palace last month.

Carroll, meanwhile, has also picked up the club's Goal of the Month award, though he had very little competition.

The club posted their monthly public vote on Twitter on Wednesday, but just seconds into the video it was revealed the competition had been aborted due to the quality of Carroll's strike.

Slaven Bilic's side host Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday, when Carroll will hope to add to his five top-flight goals this season.
