Wellington Phoenix will hold a testimonial match for midfielder Vince Lia on March 11 as he approaches a decade with the A-League club.
Lia is the Phoenix's only remaining foundation player in their squad, with the 31-year-old having made 190 appearances for the New Zealand-based outfit since joining Wellington from Melbourne Victory before the 2007-08 season.
On Wednesday, Wellington announced they will hold a testimonial match for Lia at David Farrington Park and a dinner in his honour at Westpac Stadium.
The testimonial match will see a Vince Lia Legends XI take on a side led by Wellington mayor Justin Lester, with former Phoenix players such as Daniel, Manny Muscat, Paul Ifill and Ben Sigmund set to be involved.
While Lia has flitted in and out of Wellington's starting XI at different stages during his nine years at the club, the Shepparton-born midfielder has been close to a permanent fixture in 2016-17, starting 19 of the Phoenix's 20 A-League matches.
Lia is one of only 19 players to have made over 200 A-League appearances, with 24 of his 214 games coming with Victory in the first two seasons of the competition.
