Having helped them to their first away point against Olukoya Boys, the Pride of Rivers midfielder attributed it to their impressive display

Rivers United's Emeka Atuloma says his side 'gave a good fight' after holding MFM FC to a 1-1 draw at the Agege Stadium on Monday.

Following their back-to-back wins over Akwa United and Nasarawa United, the Pride of Rivers climbed to the second position and were hoping for an away win to consolidate.

Sikiru Olatunbosun's first half lead for Fidelis Ilechukwu's side was cancelled by Atuloma's late effort in the second half which helped Stanley Eguma's men escape defeat.

"It was a difficult game for us but I'm happy we got something from here [Lagos]," Atuloma told media.

"We promised ourselves on getting a good result here and at the end, we were able to secure a point. We put up a good fight to get the draw.

Rivers United are now fourth on the log with 27 points from 18 outings and would embark on a trip to face Abia Warriors in Umuahia on Sunday.
