The Nigeria international imminent move to the Hawthorns could be called off due to the excessive requirements by the Hornets

Tony Pulis has hinted that a deal to bring Odion Ighalo to West Brom may not materialise due to Watford’s demands.

The Nigerian has seen his form dropped massively and thus, has been relegated to Walter Mazzarri’s bench. And despite previous offers from China, the 27-year-old has made it clear he wants to maintain top level football.

West Brom, who recently cashed £12million from the sale of Saido Berahino to Stoke City, have since approached the Hornets to take the former Udinese striker off their books in a bid to fill the void left by the England youth international.

The Vicarage Road outfit also look set to begin life without the Nigeria international with a £2.3million deal for Argentine striker, Mauro Zarate reportedly agreed with Fiorentina.

But Pulis stated that the move might not take place with Watford demanding too much from the forward’s - who has just two English Premier League this season - move to the Baggies.

"I think Watford want too much [for Ighalo] so I don't think we'll be in that one," Pulis told Express and Star.
