Rusike scored what is so far the fastest goal of the 2018 Nedbank Cup as McCarthy maintained his 100 percent record against Hunt. Watch the goal here

Striker Matthew Rusike scored on debut to help Cape Town City beat Bidvest Wits 1-0 in the Last 32 of the Nedbank Cup on Wednesday night.

What made the goal even special is that it came less than 90 seconds into the encounter at the Bidvest Stadium.

It also happened to be Rusike's first touch on the night, and watch how he celebrated the goal with his coach, Benni McCarthy, on the touchline.

Rusike joined the Citizens on a free transfer during the January transfer window, and McCarthy said he played the Zimbabwean attacker to get him up to speed with how he wants things done.

He also revealed that he fielded his strongest possible line-up, which included the likes of Ayanda Patosi and Teko Modise among others, because he wanted to win the match.

"I certainly wanted to play, that’s why I went with Ayanda Patosi, Teko Modise, Roland Putsche, Lyle Lakay, Sibusiso Masina, Matthew Rusike, who I’m trying to get up to speed as quickly as possible. So, I needed to play him from the start and for as long as possible," said McCarthy after the game.
