Victor Wanyama has beaten Chelsea and Manchester City stars in the race for EPL Africa Player of the Month Award

Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has been named the best Africa player in English Premier League for January.

According to organizers, New African Soccer, the midfielder has beaten Chelsea winger Victor Moses and Manchester City attacking midfielder Yaya Toure to the recognition.

Wanyama termed key for Tottenham against City

“The Lion of Muthurwa’ has been solid for Tottenham, guiding them to a highly respectable place on the table and helping as they remain the side with the least losses in the league and the best defensive record so far. A lot of Tottenham’s resilience has been down to his input.”

Wanyama featured for the North London side in all the four matches played in January. He was instrumental in their 2-0 win against Chelsea, 4-0 triumph against West Bromwich Albion, 2-2 draw against Manchester City and 0-0 draw against Sunderland.
