The Burkinabé international broke the deadlock in classy fashion on his return to Ajax's starting XI

Chelsea loanee Bertrand Traore continued his fine run of form on Sunday when he scored the opening goal in Ajax’s 2-0 victory over Sparta with a spectacular individual effort.

The winger was making his return to Peter Bosz’s side having starred for Burkina Faso enroute to the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals, and it took the 21-year-old only 45 minutes to get on the score-sheet as he helped Ajax reduce the gap on Eredivisie leaders Feyenoord to five points.

Picking the ball up in a wide area, Traore twisted past three defenders before wrong-footing goalkeeper Ryan Korsmit with a low drive into the corner on the stroke of half-time.

Traore, who was named in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Team of the Tournament, made 10 Premier League appearances for the Blues last season.
