Mexico's Confederations Cup semifinal against Germany couldn't have gotten off to a worse start.

Germany midfielder Leon Goretzka scored two goals in a two-minute span, staking his side to a 2-0 lead within eight minutes. 

The strikes had an air of similarity, as the Schalke midfielder made late runs through the center of midfield and finished low into the bottom-left corner. 

Germany would go on to win 4-1 and advanced to face Chile in Sunday's final, while Mexico will take on Portugal in the third-place match.
