Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana was left red-faced on Sunday after an embarrassing slip up that could have a big say on his side's title chances.
After seeing Eredivisie leaders Feyenoord lose thanks to a Mathias Pogba header, the Amsterdam side had a chance to move to within two points of first place when they took on Groningen.
But 10 minutes into the second half, disaster struck as ex-Barcelona shot stopper Onana was caught in possession by Bryan Linssen.
The attacker clearly fouled the 20-year-old, but that does not completely absolve him of the blame as he admitted himself afterwards.
"I was unlucky," he told NOS. "It was a foul, but it was also a mistake. The referee's job is also difficult."
Meanwhile referee Bas Nijhuis gave a bizarre answer as to why he failed to give the foul, saying: "No one protested. Not the Ajax goalkeeper or any of his team-mates."
