Just three weeks ago, Ceres-Negros FC started the first of their double header against Felda United as probably the team with the upper hand but 180 minutes later, the tide has swung in favour of the Malaysian team.

Having drawn the first game in Philippines, Ceres suffered a potentially damaging 3-0 loss to Felda at Shah Alam Stadium on Tuesday evening. Syahid Zaidon opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a superb strike from long range and Risto Vidakovic admitted that they had lost to a better team on the day.

"Today I think Felda was the better team. They scored good goals. For us, we had to change the plans and it was very difficult. We planned something different but they scored very early and it was very hard for us," said Vidakovic at the post-match press conference.

Even though Ceres came out in the second half the stronger side, defensive lapses allowed Hadin Azman the chance to hammer home the pivotal second goal of the match, which Vidakovic pinpointed as the moment that the became a foregone conclusion.

"The two goals were very good, especially the second goal. When that went it, we lose all momentum," added Vidakovic.

Ceres opened the 2017 AFC Cup tournament with a thumping hammering of Tampines Rovers, subsequent two draws and a defeat have seen Ceres being caught in a three-way battle with Ha Noi FC and Felda for the coveted top spot in Group G. Despite the humbling defeat, Vidakovic remains hopeful that his team could rediscover their form in the final two matches in the group.

"As I said before the game, everyone have the possibility to qualify. We now have a home game and we have to fight for that," stressed Vidakovic.

Ceres will next play Ha Noi on 19th of April.
