Tottenham are hopeful that Victor Wanyama will be involved in Wednesday’s match at Swansea despite a back problem

Victor Wanyama is line to start for Tottenham against Swansea City in a league match on Wednesday night.

The Kenyan captain was forced off the pitch shortly before half-time against Burnley but according to Evening Standard, he has travelled with the team to South Wales with the rest of the squad.

After the injury, manager Mauricio Pochettino kept his fingers crossed as he waited for the doctor’s report over the same. “Victor suffered a big injury on his back and we’ll see now what happens. We’re sad for both players and now we have to wait.”

Should Wanyama start against Swansea, he will extend his ever-present Premier League record for Spurs since moving from Southampton for £9million last summer.
