Victor Ikpeba described his pride at the performance of Monaco despite crashing out of the Caf Champions League following a 4-2 aggregate defeat to Juventus on Tuesday.
Mario Mandzukic and Dani Alves goals silenced Leonardo Jardim's men 2-1 in the second leg as Kylian Mbappe’s 69th minute goal counted for nothing.
But Monaco who featured for the Stade Louis II giants between 1993-99 still found time to praise the players' performances despite the result, tweeting: "I'm proud of my Monaco side. They have done so well, getting to the semi-finals. They have done their best.

''Despite the pain of last night, still proudly AS Monaco. We return to fight another day.''
The 1997 Africa Footballer of the Year also felicitated with the Old Lady for reaching their ninth final in the history of the competition.
''Congratulations Juventus. Well deserved.''
