Venue for Harambee Stars friendlies changed

Harambee Stars will host Uganda and DRC in friendlies outside Nairobi

The two international friendly matches pitting Kenya’s Harambee Stars against Uganda and DRC Congo, which were to be played at Nyayo Stadium, have been moved to Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

The move, confirmed by Football Kenya Federation, has been necessitated by ongoing renovations at both Nyayo Stadium and Kasarani Stadiums.

The two friendly matches, which will be played on March 23 and 26 respectively, are in preparation for the upcoming Afcon 2019 qualifiers against Sierra Leone set for June 2017.

Head coach Stanley Okmubi had called up 26 local based players, who are required to report to camp on Sunday, March 19 with a list of foreign based players set to be named in due course.

Tickets for the matches will be sold at the venue on respective match-days with a VIP ticket trading at Sh300 and those of terraces costing Sh100 each. Both matches will kick off at 3:00pm with gates opening at 11:00am.

Uganda and DR Congo are expected in the country on Monday.
