The striker became the first player to score against all of the current top six in the same campaign

Jamie Vardy certainly has no problem raising his game when he faces tough opposition.

The Leicester City striker found the back of the net in the 24th minute against Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday to level the score at 1-1.

It was Vardy’s 13th strike of the Premier League season and 14th in all competitions.

The goal also allowed Vardy to add an impressive note to his resume, as City became the most recent of the Premier League’s top six that he has scored against this season.

Vardy bagged a brace against Arsenal on the opening day of the season and has not seen his form drop off against any of the contenders, scoring in each game against Liverpool, his one match against Tottenham, one of his two matches against Chelsea and one of his two matches against Manchester United.

He became the first player to score against all six of those teams in a single Premier League season.

In total, eight of his 13 goals have come against the top six.

Vardy had previously scored against Manchester City this season in the Carabao Cup, but that did not count toward that specific feat.

The England striker will have the opportunity to continue his impressive scoring rate against the top six when he and the Foxes face Arsenal on March 17, though he’ll have to wait until the last day of the campaign to see if he can add another against Spurs.

In the meantime, it caps an impressive run of form for Vardy as he has now scored in each of his last four games.
