Ulinzi Stars are hopeful that they can beat Al Hilal to secure a slot in Caf Confederation Cup Group stage

Ulinzi Stars defender Geoffrey Kokoyo is optimistic that his side can beat Libyan Premier League side Al Hilal Benghazi in their Caf Confederation Cup return leg match set for Saturday at Kasarani Stadium.

Speaking on Friday during their final preparation at the match-day venue, the defender insisted that Ulinzi Stars are better off even after losing to their opponent in the first match. He is even predicting that the Soldiers can advance past the tournament’s Group stage going by the level of their preparedness.

“Final preparations are ongoing well ahead of tomorrow’s match against Al Hilal Benghazi. We want to utilize all our chances in the match in search of victory because we unfortunately lost while away.

“The worst level we want to reach is the tournament’s Group stage and still you never know, we can even go all the way to the finals.”

His statement comes a day after vice chairman Major Joe Birgen urged Kenyan fans to turn out in large numbers so as to boost the players’ morale during the match.

“It is a tough match but we are determined to win. The home support will be very crucial and I want to urge all football loving Kenyans to come out at Kasarani and support us,” he told the club’s official website.

The match will be played as from 3:00pm and fans will part with Sh300 for every VIP ticket and Sh100 for each terrace ticket.
