Ulinzi Stars coach Benjamin Nyangweso insists that his side was beaten from an offside position

Ulinzi Stars head coach Benjamin Nyangweso has slammed the assistant referee following the team's 1-0 loss in the Caf Confederations Cup match on Friday.

Ahmed Abar’s 50th minute strike was enough to give Al Hilal Benghazi an advantage ahead of the second leg but the Soldiers’ tactician believes that it could have been let to stand.

"My boys played well, it was a good game, we created chances which we unfortunately did not take and they cost us. Well, it was an offside goal. The assistant referee allowed it to stand, and there was nothing we could do about it, but it was a costly mistake," he told Goal.

The Nakuru-based side now needs a 2-0 score to advance to the next round when the two sides face each other in a fortnight.
