U-13 National Youth League: Minerva Punjab, Chennaiyin FC begin their campaign on Sunday

U-13 teams of I-League and ISL champions Minerva Punjab FC and Chennaiyin FC begin their journey in the national youth league on April 29th....

The U-13 National Youth League final round is all set to kick-off on April 29th with youth sides of I-League champions Minerva Punjab FC taking on Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools and Indian Super League (ISL) champions Chennaiyin FC locking horns against Karnataka’s Roots Football School.

The final round features 11 teams who have qualified from across the country and they are divided in three groups. After the group stage matches, the three group toppers and the best runners-up will qualify for the semifinals.

Group A features Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools, Minerva Punjab FC, Aizawl FC and Reliance Foundation Young Champs sides. After topping the ROI Group B, Minerva Punjab topped the qualifying stage and made it to the final round.

The other notable sides taking part in this year’s Youth Football League are, Kolkata’s Mohammedan Sporting, who made it to the final round after topping the Kolkata group with a 100% win record. A lot will be expected from the youngsters of Mohammedan.

From Goa we have the youth side of Indian football giants Dempo SC and from the North Eastern zone Aizawl FC and Shillong Lajong will take part in the final round of the competition.
