Tusker new signing scores debut goal in friendly

Muchiri signed a three year contract with the brewers and was handed first match against the National Super League side

Tusker FC new acquisition Boniface Muchiri scored in his first match as the brewers beat Police 8-3 in a friendly played on Thursday.

Muchiri, a midfilder, signed a three-year deal with Tusker and he was immediately handed his first match by coach George Nsimbe just hours after completing the switch from Sony Sugar.

Nsimbe also gave Paul Odhiambo, signed from Sofapaka and David Mwangi formally of Mathare United, starting roles in the build up match ahead of Sunday’s Kenyan Premier League fixture against visiting Bandari at Kinoru stadium in Meru. Odhiambo​ ​teamed up front with Allan Wanga, who scored a brace as Michael Khamati, Noah Wafula and Brian Osumba also shook the net.

T​he new signings are ​​expected to add the much needed firepower​ for the defending champions​ as they position themselves to retain the league title.

​Tusker first half squad: ​David Okello, Martin Kizza, James Situma, Marlon Tangauzi, David Mwangi, Hashim Sempala, Jackson Macharia, Brian Osumba, Noah Wafula, Paul Odhiambo and Allan Wanga.

​Second half squad: David Okello, Collins Shivachi, Eugene Asike, Lloyd Wahome, Abdul ​Hassan, Moses Ndawula, Anthony Ndolo, Humphrey Mieno, Boniface Muchiri, Clifford Alwanga and Michael Khamati​​.​
