Troubled Ekuban not giving up on Leeds season revival

The forward speaks on his plight in the English Championship

Leeds United summer signing Caleb Ekuban has described life at Elland Road as "tough", having struggled to make an impact in the English Championship.

Following a four-year move from Italian outfit Chievo Verona, the 23-year-old striker is still chasing his first goal for the Whites.

His ambitions have not been helped by fitness as he has had to visit the treatment room on two occasions, the first keeping him out of action for three months.

"It's been tough but it's all about learning and growing up," Ekuban told LUTV.

"I've had a couple of injuries which killed the season for me personally.

"But now I'm back and trying to find a rhythm.

"I've had a lot of opportunities to play and I just hope to get some momentum going."

While Ekuban continues his search for a first league goal, Leeds also continue their fight for a steady campaign.

The Whites have blown hot and cold, their inconsistency presently leaving them 13th on the log.

“Our aim is to just come out and perform to our maximum levels," Ekuban said.

“We will try to get the momentum going and we will try to get back to winning ways and just keep on going.

“You never know what can happen – one or two wins and you’re back there again trying to get into the top six.

“So you never know, we just need to keep working hard and keep on going.”
