Traore and Ziyech shine in Ajax rout

The duo were both instrumental in Ajax’s dismantling of Heraclieden

Bertrand Traore and Hakim Ziyech were both impressive as they helped their Eredivisie side Ajax Amsterdam to a 4-1 win over Heracles on Sunday.

 Kasper Dolberg, Matthijs de Ligt, Davinson Sanchez and Traore were all on the scoresheet while Samuel Armenteros got the visitors’ consolation goal.

Traore netted Ajax’s fourth from a Ziyech set piece. The Burkinabe perfectly timed his run, raced to the near post and snuck the ball in at the far post beyond Bram Castro in the visitor’s goal.

This was the Chealse-loanee’s sixth goal of the campaign on his 16th league appearance.

Ziyech on the other hand recorded his second assist of the day having also assisted de Ligt for Ajax’s second goal earlier.

This was Ziyech’s ninth assist of the campaign in 24 matches. The Moroccan international is proving to be marquee signing for Peter Bosz with eight goals.

Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana conceded for the first time after going after seven matches without conceding.

Onana was one clean sheet shot of a club record but concede on Sunday.

The 20-year-old has started 22 matches and has kept an impressive 13 clean-sheets, a record he shares with Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois across the European leagues.
