It was not long ago that the Premier League title race seemed done and dusted in favor of Chelsea, but a recent surge by Tottenham has put the league back into question.
Spurs continued their fine form Wednesday with a 1-0 victory over London rivals Crystal Palace courtesy of a second-half goal from Christian Eriksen. That win was the side’s eighth straight victory in the Premier League, having not dropped a point since a 2-0 reverse to Liverpool on February 11.
That run has not only drawn the club back into the title race, but also marks the best form Spurs have seen in over half a century.
Tottenham last won eight straight league games back in 1960. That side went on to win 13 before finally being stopped.
A large part of that sparkling form has been a product the goalscorer Eriksen’s play.
The midfielder has contributed to 16 goals over Tottenham’s last 12 games, scoring five and assisting on 12 others.

With the points gap to Chelsea down to four, Eriksen and Tottenham have worked their way back into the mix. Now they’ll need to keep up their efforts if they want to complete their impressive comeback with a Premier League title.
