Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace Betting: Hosts' defence to remain untroubled at Wembley

The visitors have the poorest attack in the division and we think that a Spurs side full of confidence will be able to record another clean sheet

After a memorable European night at Wembley on Wednesday, Tottenham Hotspur will expect to record another home win on Sunday when they face Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Having conquered holders Real Madrid 3-1 in the Champions League, the north Londoners host the top flight's bottom team and the Eagles' away form means Spurs are clear favourites.

The Selhurst Park outfit have lost each of their last seven matches on the road without scoring - and failing to win away since April - although Roy Hodgson's men did pull off a major shock by beating champions Chelsea a couple of weeks ago, and bet365 offer them at 8/1 (9.00) to win at Wembley. Spurs, for their part, can be backed at 2/7 (1.28) while the draw is priced at 19/4 (5.75)

As well as having the worst defence in the division, Palace also have the most goal-shy attack and their total of four strikes in ten matches goes a long way to explaining why they are rooted to the bottom of the table.

Spurs, of course, have had the division's best defence for the last two seasons and this term they have conceded just seven league goals while keeping five clean sheets.

The price of 11/10 (2.10) for another clean sheet for the hosts looks tempting, while for slightly higher odds Spurs can be backed at 6/5 (2.20) to be the only team to score.

The Tottenham defence managed to nullify Real Madrid's potent attack on Wednesday with Cristiano Ronaldo's late strike a mere consolation, and given how poor Palace have been in front of the goal, the visitors to Wembley this weekend must surely be opposed.

Another market to consider is backing under 2.5 goals in the game at 17/10 (2.70), which has paid out in two of Spurs' last three home league games, and also in four of Palace's last six matches on the road.
