Torino saw their game against Crotone postponed on Sunday following Davide Astori's death and in preparation for Friday's league game against Roma, the Bulls disclosed that the 23-year-old fractured his nose.

“During the morning technical-tactical session, M'Baye Niang suffered a nasal contusion. Subjected to immediate investigations at the Chivasso Hospital by Professor Libero Tubino, the consultation revealed a fracture in the nasal bones,” read a statement on club website.

Following medical consultations, the Senegal forward is set to go under the knife for treatment on Tuesday. However, he is expected to return to action immediately with a protective mask.

“Tomorrow the attacker will be operated for the reduction of the fracture by the same Professor Tubino and already from Wednesday he could resume training with his teammates using a protective mask."

Walter Mazzarri’s side are placed ninth in the Serie A log.
