MFM’s head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu says the Olukoya Boys will play at least two friendly matches as they try to remodel their style of play and tactics before their next league game against Wikki Tourists on July 16 in Lagos.
The Olukoya Boys won’t be involved in topflight action this weekend because of Rivers United's involvement in key Caf Confederation Cup tie against FUS Rabat of Morocco.
He revealed that he has penciled down friendly games with some clubs in Lagos metropolis to keep his players competitive and also match fit because their tie with the Giant Elephants next weekend.
“We are doing everything within our means to ensure that we prepare a team that will remain competitive till the end of the season. We have lined up some friendly matches against teams in Lagos to keep us match fit and also to help tinker with our tactics and style of play before the next game with Wikki Tourists,” Ilechukwu told Goal.
“We all know that Rivers United tie with us won’t hold this weekend because of their continental assignment and we are filling that space and other days with test games to keep us ready for the remaining matches of the season and especially against Wikki.”
MFM are second on the league table with 46 points from 27 games.
