The 18-year-old's stunning strike - the third in a four-goal rout on Sunday - left Toffees fans and neutrals alike incredibly impressed

Tom Davies showed Manchester City's under-performing stars just what kind of spark they're missing right now with a stunning solo strike in Everton's 4-0 rampage on Sunday.

The midfielder, 18, pulled off a gorgeous flick as he charged into the City half, skipping past City's defence before offloading to a team-mate as he was brought down on the edge of the area.

Not one to be deterred, he quickly got back to his feet, latched on to Ross Barkley's through ball and chipped Claudio Bravo with wonderful finesse to get his first Premier League goal.

"Rom's trying to claim it, but it's definitely mine," Davies, a local lad from Merseyside, said jokingly after the game as he was awarded man of the match. "I had a chance and managed to take it thankfully.

"It was surreal being with the first team in general. It's a great feeling." Everton fans, some of whom had questioned the decision to start Davies ahead of Morgan Schneiderlin before the game, were head-over-heels in love with their new star on Twitter following the excellent goal.

Although not everyone could shake Davies' haircut from their mind, even with his phenomenal goal.

What do you make of Davies? Is he a future star of the Premier League, a one-hit wonder, or is it too early to judge?
