The Selecao boss led Corinthians to two league titles, a Copa Libertadores and Club World Cup title during two stints with the Sao Paulo-based club.

The final decision on the venue was not solely because of the preference of the coach, however.

Opened in 2014 as one of the host stadiums for the World Cup, the Arena Corinthians’ modern facilities and extended commercial spaces made it a preferred choice for FIFA.

Sao Paulo’s Morumbi was also muted as a possible venue for the clash, which could see the Selecao mathematically secure a place at Russia 2018.

The Selecao return to World Cup qualifying with another double-header, which will see them travel to Montevideo five days prior to hosting Paraguay.

The five-time world champions have two more home matches in World Cup qualifying following the Paraguay clash, which will see them host Ecuador in August and Colombia in October.

One of those two matches will be played at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, while Brasília and Porto Alegre are competing to host the other.

Tite has led Brazil to six consecutive World Cup qualifying victories since his June 2016 appointment, leaving his side leading the table with 27 points from 12 matches.
