Goal's exclusive Australian spy can reveal the Australian youth international is set to return to the A-League under the tutelage of his old manager

Sydney FC are closing in on the acquisition of former Central Coast Mariners midfielder Anthony Kalik on loan from Croatian giants Hadjuk Split.

The Covert Agent can reveal the 19-year-old Australian, who is of Croatian descent, will likely join the Sky Blues to reunite with coach Graham Arnold - who gave Kalik his first professional deal at 16 years old while in charge of the Mariners.

Kalik has made 11 appearances in the Croatian first division since joining in 2016, but has struggled to make Hadjuk Split's first team recently.

The attack-minded talent has 13 games of senior A-League experience with the Mariners between 2014 and 2016.
