Schalke 04 manager Markus Weinzierl has announced that American pair Weston McKennie and Haji Wright have been promoted to the first team.
In his pre-match press conference leading up to the Bundesliga club's final league match of the season, Weinzierl said the duo would travel with the senior side on Saturday to face already-relegated Ingolstadt.

McKennie, 18, and Wright, 19, have impressed with Schalke's U-19 side this season and both are considered a big part of the Royal Blues' future plans.
Wright scored 12 goals in 21 matches for the club’s U-19 side this campaign, while McKennie netted four in 21 games.
Christof KoepselSchalke did not allow the duo, along with fellow U-19 star Nick Taitague, to be a part of Tab Ramos' U-20 World Cup squad after being called up, much to the U.S. boss' chagrin.
The U.S. kicks off its World Cup campaign without the Schalke trio against Ecuador on May 22.
