The Brazilian comes back into Jurgen Klopp's starting XI, while Pep Guardiola has Fernandinho at right-back for the hosts at the Etihad

Roberto Firmino has provided Liverpool with a massive lift at Manchester City, with the Brazilian fit enough to start as the focal point in attack.

The 25-year-old, who has scored in two of his three league appearances against the hosts, lines up alongside Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane, who have similarly enjoyed their outings against the Citizens.

The former has five goals in six meetings against City, while the Senegal international bagged a hat-trick against them last season for Southampton in a 4-2 victory at St Mary’s.

At the back, Dejan Lovren is held in reserve as Jurgen Klopp continues with Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip in the heart of defence.

For the hosts, Fernandinho is dropped into the defensive unit at right-back, helping to provide added steel down that flank.

Yaya Toure also comes back into Pep Guardiola's starting XI after filling bench duty against Monaco in midweek Champions League action.

Manchester City starting line-up: Caballero, Fernandinho, Stones, Otamendi, Clichy, Yaya Toure, Sane, De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling, Aguero

Manchester City bench: Bravo, Sagna, Fernando, Nolito, Kolarov, Iheanacho, A. Garcia

Liverpool starting line-up: Mignolet, Clyne, Matip, Klavan, Milner, Can, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino

Liverpool bench: Karius, Lovren, Moreno, Alexander-Arnold, Lucas, Origi, Woodburn

City head into the game sat one place and a solitary point above the Reds in the Premier League table, with both guaranteed to end the weekend inside the top four.
