Ahead of Terengganu FC's final Malaysia Super League (MSL) match away to Selangor on Sunday, club skipper and top-scorer Tchetche Kipre was awarded the MSL June Best Player award by the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia.

The Turtles, currently in fifth place, need to defeat the Red Giants while hoping that Pahang in fourth lose to Kelantan on the same night, in order to secure a runners up finish in the league, which may also take them to the AFC Champions League playoffs.

Just hours before the match against Selangor, the Ivorian forward was presented with the award by the association in a brief ceremony that was held at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

In June, he bagged five goals, including a hat-trick in their 3-2 win over Negeri Sembilan on June 27. He is currently his club's league top-scorer in the season with 14 goals.

When met by the press following the ceremony, the 30-year old forward expressed his gratitude towards his teammates for the award.

"I couldn't have done it without my teammates' help. I like collecting trophies, so I hope to continue my performance.

"It's a great morale boost not just for me, but also for the team because later today we have a chance of grabbing that second place finish in the Super League. We have a good chance and it's in our hands, there's no pressure so we only need to concentrate on winning," he remarked.

When asked by Goal about his future at the club, Kipre only responded that he's happy there, with a cheeky smile:

"We have to win today first, and compete in the Malaysia Cup later, but I'm happy at Terengganu. For now I'm still here."
