Austin Eguavoen has parted ways with Nigeria Professional Football League outfit, Sunshine Stars just two months after he was unveiled.

The former Nigeria international sensationally walked away with goalkeepers’ trainer Ike Shorunmu after the Owena Whales bowed at home to Plateau United on Wednesday.

Sunshine Stars manager confirmed on Twitter that Eguavoen threw in the towel, and they respected his decision.

Goal gathered from reliable sources within the team that the tactician took the decision because he was disillusioned with poor officiating against his team, plus club management’s inability to pay players’ wages which has slowed down their output on the field.

Meanwhile, coach Akin Olowookere has been named interim coach and he would be in charge when they face Kano Pillars in Sunday’s NPFL game at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Sunshine Stars are 17th on the log with 27 points from 23 games.
