Mekoa could realize his dream of playing for one of the biggest teams in the PSL provided Sundowns agree to release certain players to Martizburg Utd

Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has confirmed that Mamelodi Sundowns have already approached them over the possibility of signing Deolin Mekoa.

According to Kadodia, talks between the two teams have began and are progressing well, and the deal could be concluded in the near future.

However, he said they will only agree to sell Mekoa if the Brazilians include certain players as part of the deal.

At this stage, it is unclear which players they are targeting from Sundowns, but reports suggest that United would like sign a few of their players who have been overlooked by coach Pitso Mosimane.

"We are still talking with Sundowns. We are agreeing on many things, but they should give us certain players for us to release Deolin," Kadodia told Isolezwe.

"Afterwards they can start negotiating personal terms with the player," said the Team of Choice boss.

Kadodia admitted a few weeks ago that he had received an offer from the Tshwane giants, but he didn't want to discuss the matter further to allow the player to concentrate on helping Maritzburg United do well in the league.

The KwaZulu Natal outfit is aiming for a top eight finish this season, and they're close to achieving that with only three league games to go before the end of the season.
