Stephen Odey on target in FC Zurich defeat to Thun

The 20-year-old came off the bench for the City Club’s second goal, but they bowed at home to Mauro Lustrinelli’s men

Stephen Odey was on target for FC Zurich as they bowed 4-2 at home to FC Thun in Sunday’s Swiss Super League game.

The former MFM star opened his goals’ account for the City Club in their 2-1 defeat to Luzern on December 12. And at Stadion Letzigrund, the forward got his second for the club as they got muzzled before their home fans.

Uli Forte’s side were a goal down in the eighth minute when Dejan Sorgic put the visitors ahead. And things got worse for FC Zurich after Moreno Costanzo doubled the lead three minutes later, while Marvin Spielmann made it three in the 43rd minute.

In the 65th minute, Adrian Winter reduced the deficit for the hosts as Odey made it thanks to Antonio Marchesano’s assist in the 69th minute – seven minutes after replacing Raphael Dwamena.

When it looked like the hosts would claw back to earn a point, Costanzo completed his brace six minutes from the full time – handing FC Zurich their third home defeat in the league.

Forte’s men are fifth in the Super League with 15 points from 10 games. They host Luzern in their next league outing on February 18.
