Allan Wanga is the new Sports Director at Kakamega County.

The former Tusker, Sofapaka and AFC Leopards striker picked his appointment letter on Thursday, according to  Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula, who spoke to Goal.

“Wanga has been employed by the County. He picked his letter today (Thursday). He will also play for us.

"We are serious about competing for the league title this season and that is why we have handed him this opportunity to share his experiences with us," Shimanyula, a renowned Kakamega businessman, spoke of the 31 year-old forward, who has enjoyed professional stints in Angola, Vietnam and Azerbaijan in the past.

"I want to give him two years and above and this will be confirmed before the end of this week or earlier next week.”

Wanga's contract at Tusker expired last November. Also, Homeboyz will be playing their home matches at the refurbished Bukhugu stadium this season.
