Spanish side Navalcarnero have captured the signature of the South African defender

South African born defender Thabang Maponya has joined Spanish Segunda Division B side Club Deportivo Artistico Navalcarnero ahead of the 2017/2018 season.

The 22-year-old was most recently on the books of Spanish side Caudal Deportivo, but after making only a handful of appearances during their previous campaign, he left the club at the end of the season. However, he has not had to wait long to find his next destination as he has been snapped up by fellow Spanish outfit Navalcarnero.

The full-back will be looking to impress at the Madrid club and seal his place in the coach’s starting XI when the season begins next month. Maponya will also have the opportunity to come up against the likes of Real Madrid Castilla and Atletico Madrid B in the Spanish third division, which should give him an added incentive to impress at his new club.
