Sofapaka goalkeeper George Opiyo has been ruled out of their Kenyan Premier League match against Muhoroni Youth on Saturday.

Opiyo, who played the entire 90 minutes in Sofapaka’s 3-1 defeat to Kariobangi Sharks in GOtv Shield, has been ruled out for a week after picking up a knock. The second choice goalkeeper injured his right elbow and will not be fit to face Muhoroni Youth at Nyayo Stadium.

Lack of match fitness locks out AFC Leopards star

The former Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) goalkeeper will be replaced by first choice custodian, Ugandan, Mathias Kigonya. Kigonya returned to the country last Tuesday from Spain where he took part in two friendly matches with KPL AllStars.

Sofapaka, who played to a barren draw against Thika United in the last league match, are sixth on the log with 24 points after 16 rounds of matches.
