Sime Darby FC are back in the Premier League with a bang after winning the FAM League to seal their promotion.
On Sunday, the second leg between Sime Darby and UKM FC was played at Petaling Jaya Municipal Council Stadium and the match eventually finished 2-2.
However, with Sime Darby having won the first leg 1-0, they emerged as the FAM League champions.
UKM were the first to strike when Hasrul Nurkholis Hasim scored in the 17th minute but Sime Darby quickly wrested the match back in control to go 2-1 up through efforts from Nazrul Kamaruzaman (29') and Tunku Noor Hidayat Tunku Ishak (55').
Even though UKM were able to level the score at 2-2 when Faidzol Fazreen Shamsudin grabbed an important equaliser, it came too late for UKM to find a winner.
Sime Darby and UKM reached the final at the expense of Felcra FC and Shahzan Muda respectively.
However it has yet been decided which two places in the Premier League that these two teams will take. This is because Perlis, ATM and MISC-MIFA are all still capable of fighting for their safety in the final day of action this Friday.
This will be UKM's first appearance in the Premier League while Sime Darby were only relegated to the FAM League in 2016 and did well to jump straight back up.
