Sevilla v Real Betis Betting Preview: Latest odds, team news, tips and predictions

Vincenzo Montella's first league game in charge of Sevilla could not be a more charged affair as his new side face Real Betis in one of Europe's most fiery cross-city derbies.

The Italian manager got off to a winning start on Wednesday evening as his side beat Cadiz in another local affair in the Copa Del Rey and Montella will be aiming to inflict more misery on a Betis side who have won just one of their last eight league games.

Sevilla have won each of the last five derbies in all competitions and dabblebet offer them at 8/15 (1.53) to pick up another three points on Saturday evening.

Betis manager Quique Setien, who will be in the stands for the game after receiving a touchline ban, could be in serious trouble if he suffers another defeat and Los Verdiblancos are priced at 5/1 (6.00) to ease the pressure on the coach with a win. The draw, meanwhile, is available at 7/2 (3.50).

Team News

Betis will be missing first choice centre back Jordi Amat, who is suspended after picking up a straight red card in the last game of 2017 against Athletic Bilbao, whilst top scorer Toni Sanabria remains sidelined with a knee injury that has kept him out since the start of December.

Sevilla meanwhile have defensive midfielder Guido Pizarro suspended having picked up his fifth yellow card of the season.

Sevilla imperious at home

Despite sacking manager Eduardo Berizzo over the winter break, Sevilla remain in a strong position; indeed, the side sit fifth in the La Liga table, are into the last 16 of the Champions League and look well-placed to progress to the quarter finals of the Copa Del Rey.

Their home form has been superb and the Andalusians have not lost a league game in front of their own fans in 14 months, whilst conceding just three home goals in eight league games this season.

Therefore, they will feel confident of inflicting another defeat on their vulnerable looking neighbours.

Tips and predictions

Sevilla are offered at 6/5 (2.20) to win by two goals or more and this looks a solid option given their home form, as well as Betis' wretched defensive record which has seen Los Verdiblancos concede the third-highest number of goals in La Liga this season.
