A move to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan could be something to interest the 26-year-old.

“Sevilla is a big and very interesting club,” he told Goal. “And La Liga is an amazing league, but I don’t know anything. Only my agents know, what is happening right now.

“My focus is on my football, and now I am back after my holiday and training with Lille, where I still have one year left on the contract.

“I have met our new coach Marcelo Bielsa, and the new Lille project under him looks very exciting for the club, so nothing is decided yet.

“I don’t know yet, whether I am leaving or staying. And I have never said that I only want to leave this club, so now I must wait and see, what will happen.”

Several clubs have been linked with the former Sochaux man over the course of the last year, with Arsenal, Roma, Napoli and Torino associated with him.

“I can confirm, that I have heard of interest from countries like England, Italy and Spain - but I don’t know much about it,” he said.

“It is always flattering to hear about other big clubs connected with your name, but to be honest I don’t pay much attention to all the stories. My job is to play football, and then my agent will take care of any interest.”

Corchia missed only two minutes of Ligue 1 football last season – the best record of any outfielder in the whole league – and it is something he is proud of.

“It is a special feeling and my highest number ever, but then again I am used to be playing a lot every season. I have always done that. Having played 102 league games for Lille in only three seasons is pretty consistent and very satisfying,” he said.

Additionally, he posted impressive figures in terms of winning duels, drawing fouls and making interceptions – coming out as the league’s best right-back in each of those categories.
